- Notes: You'll take notes as we discuss Thesis Statements, focusing on formulating arguable claims versus simple statements of fact.
- You'll write a thesis statement about either Shane or The Old Man and the Sea and share it in class. We'll all discuss each claim and classify each as an arguable claim or a statement of fact.
- We'll read and discuss Chapter 8 of Shane. (Rdg. Quiz: Ch. 8-11 Tomorrow)
- You'll have WORK TIME for the following:
- Rdg. Quiz: Ch. 4-7.
- Read Chapter 9 on your own.
